Retrospectively when I calculate my portfolio return during that time, Oct18 was my worst ever monthly loss at -12.6% (besides Mac20). Year 2018 was my heaviest loss at -29%. I wonder if I can avoid this if I was active in the stock market, seems like it's inevitable. This month my portfolio will be worse than Oct18.Bursa Dummyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00838785922827430371noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9212230152177138609.post-1254656510972222272021-11-25T19:52:14.291+08:002021-11-25T19:52:14.291+08:00It looks like foreign funds are selling too...It looks like foreign funds are selling too...Bursa Dummyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00838785922827430371noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9212230152177138609.post-70158135200638186702021-11-25T09:55:01.746+08:002021-11-25T09:55:01.746+08:00This comment has been removed by the author.value88https://www.blogger.com/profile/14876933285749820353noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9212230152177138609.post-7005057737210904172021-11-25T09:49:32.948+08:002021-11-25T09:49:32.948+08:00This comment has been removed by the author.value88https://www.blogger.com/profile/14876933285749820353noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9212230152177138609.post-11465708812011996792021-11-25T09:44:37.234+08:002021-11-25T09:44:37.234+08:00This Nov reminds me about what happened in Nov'...This Nov reminds me about what happened in Nov'18. In Nov'18 quarterly result announcement, if a stock's earning was good, it was not rewarded with higher stock price (mostly); if earnings was below-expectation, it was punished with gap down price. And, if a stock reported loss, its stock price "lau-sai" until "mother-also-cannot-recognise".
The situation in this Nov'21 is not as bad as in Nov'18, but both have some kinds of similarity. Well, this can be explained as pessimistic market sentiment like what u mentioned. There is a quote saying, "a bull market is born out of pessimism". So yes, I think now is the time to pick up some stocks..but gradually as this pessimism may last a bit longer.
I can recall that Oct-Dec'18 was a very bad period for stocks. But, the market turned bullish in early 2019. I lost a lot in 2018, but the subsequent year, 2019, was my best profitable year so far.value88https://www.blogger.com/profile/14876933285749820353noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9212230152177138609.post-56077954940726809252021-11-25T09:41:33.302+08:002021-11-25T09:41:33.302+08:00This comment has been removed by the author.value88https://www.blogger.com/profile/14876933285749820353noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9212230152177138609.post-85838001012271624682021-11-25T08:58:43.622+08:002021-11-25T08:58:43.622+08:00Local fund houses are the most pessimisstic one wh...Local fund houses are the most pessimisstic one while retailers always positive.
