New Blog Title: BD's Road To Financial Freedom

 

Recently my Facebook page for this blog has been blocked due to infringement of rights of Bursa Malaysia.

Although there was a chance to appeal, I decided not to do so since I was not active in FB page anyway. That FB page just provides links to this blog.

Sooner or later, I think I might get the same warning from Blogger so I'd better change the blog's name first.

I'm not sure what kind of infringement I got reported for. Is it the "old" Bursa logo, the word "Bursa" in the blog name, or my blog contents?

If my blog suddenly disappear or becomes not accessible, then you should know what happens.

I started this blog 15 years ago in 2011, the time I started my journey in proper stock market investment.

Why did I name this blog "Bursa Dummy"? 

About 20-30 years ago, there was a popular book series called "for Dummies", such as "Accounting for Dummies", "Investing for Dummies" etc.

"Dummy" has a meaning of ignorant or stupid, or someone who knows nothing about something.

As I was just about to learn Malaysia's stock market investing from scratch, I was a "Bursa Dummy".

After 15 years, even though I'm still not a great stock market investor I wish to be, I don't think I'm a "dummy" anymore.

I'm glad that I manage to register good financial gain in Malaysia stock market until today.

Anyway, to continue to excel in the stock market, definitely I need to put in more time and effort, and look outside of Malaysia.

What blog title shall I use to replace "Bursa Dummy"? 

I'm thinking along the lines of "financial freedom" or "financial independence" which is my own life target and the ultimate purpose of this blog.

There is a popular word called "FIRE" in the financial world, which means "Financial Independence, Retire Early".

"Retire Early" to me is to retire at least before the age of 50, and I don't think I'm going to achieve that. So I'll only include "Financial Independence" in my blog title.

To make it more unique, I'll add in "BD" which some readers call me.

This blog records an ordinary person's journey towards financial independence, it's about BD's road to financial independence.

With this new blog title, I hope that I can keep this blog active at least until I achieve financial independence, be it before 50 or after 60 years old.
